Who am I to say? [Chapter 3]

Demi approached Selena immediately after Joe glared at her.
"What's wrong, S?"
"He's ditching us tonight."
Demi raised her eyebrow. Miley suddenly went with them in the kitchen. "What is this I hear about ditching? Who and why?"
"Yes. Joe. Because of a date with Taylor Swift." Selena said bluntly. "Can you believe that?"
Demi and Miley exchanged looks and chorused. "Yes."
Selena snapped her head to them. "What? How could you?"
Miley cleared her throat."S, we're all the best of friends but when someone wants someone, we support them in any way. We all agreed on that. We always support each other,right? Remember when Nick wanted this certain girl at school who practically looks like a granny? We all supported him."
"Even though it hurt like hell." Demi gulped.
They both turned to Demi. "What did you just say?" Selena asked.
"Pssh. That was nothing. The main topic here is Joe and you."
"Right. Anyways, did you get our point now?" Miley asked.
"No. Never anyway." Selena groaned. "He never did this. We always come first to him."
"No. Not 'us', just 'you'. Demi reminded her.
"What do you mean?" she urged.
"What I'm trying to say is...."
"Tell him what you truly feel." Miley supplied.
"I already told him! I told him I don't like him ditching us for that fake blonde." She exclaimed.
"That's not what we mean. Tell him that you love him..."
Selena recognized that familiar look from them and just stared at them. "Seriously? You really believe that I have feelings for Joe? Because it is not true. We're practically best friends since forever. It's just Joe & Selena, Selena & Joe, Best friends forever, Bay & Bee. That's just it."
"Honestly, we don't believe you. You guys are meant to be."
"D,M, I know myself enough to know what I'm feeling or not. And I know that I'm completely not in love with my best friend. I just want him to choose us."
"S, this is not about him ditching us, right? It's about him choosing Taylor over you."
Selena shrugged. "Know what? This has to stop. This nonsense conversation has to stop. We've been talking about this for years and you still can't get my point. I don't love him like that. Now, I'm showing you that I mean it." Selena walked away and went to the living room where the boys were talking.
"Joe."
Joe looked up. He noticed that she was not calling him 'Bay'. She is mad and He is too. "Selena?"
The tension was growing in the room. Demi, Miley, Nick, David and Cody were all exchanging looks.
"I thought things through and I think you should really go to that date. I mean, I'm sure you've grown bored here with us. So yeah..you might as well try something new, right?" Then she flashed a fake smile. "Let's eat pizza, guys! I'm starving." She whined.
Joe was just staring at her. They all sat in a circle in the floor with Joe just standing there.
"Want to sit down, bro?" Nick asked Joe.
He shrugged. "No. I'm going on my date now. I can't keep my princess waiting." He locked his eyes at Selena, waiting for her to look at him too but she didn't. She just looked down at her fingers.
"C'mon dude. You said you'd stay for an hour." Cody groaned.
"Yeah, man. Besides, we have pizzas and smoothies here and 'Zombieland'." David grinned.
"No, thanks anyway. I'mma see you guys tomorrow at church."
"Hey. We're all going together,okay?" Demi reminded him.
"Yeah,sure."
"Pick Selena up tomorrow and let's all meet at the front yard of the church." Miley smiled.
"I can go there on my own, Miley. Besides, Joe might not join us tomorrow. He might be sleeping late tonight." Selena turned to Joe. "Right?"
Joe straightened his face. "Yes. I'm absolutely sleeping late tonight and I'm going to enjoy it with Taylor!" Joe turned his back then and slammed the door shut.
They all turned to Selena eventually whose hands were on her forehead. "I think I'm gonna be sick."
"You should have not said that to him. He was fuming." Demi told her.
"He deserved it. He's a jerk."
"He deserved to know the truth too, S." Nick added.
"Seriously, why can't you guys get the meaning of the word 'No'? I don't love him like that,okay? You have to get it sooner or later!"
"We're sorry." Miley apologized.
"Don't be. Let's just watch this movie and get over that frigging jerk." Selena assured them.
"Okay." They all chorused.
The movie started immediately and they all sat next to each other. Cody,Nick,Demi,Miley,Selena and then David. In almost all parts of the movie, all of them were laughing except Selena. At the middle of it, she couldn't take it anymore. All this time, she was thinking of what Joe was doing with Taylor. She stood up at the thought of it.
"I'm going home now."
They all looked up at her. Nick got the remote and paused the movie. "What? We're on the middle of it."
"Sorry. You guys should continue it. I'll just see you guys tomorrow. I don't feel good at all."
They all stood up and gave her a hug. "Don't think about them all throughout the night,okay?" David teased her.
They all glared at him.
"Sorry." He apologized with his arms up.
Selena gave a fake chuckle. "No worries. Thanks, guys. Enjoy the movie." She then disappeared to the door.
"I hope she'll be fine." Demi said.
"We all do, demz." Nick assured her by squeezing her hands.
"I hope J will come after her tonight and apologize then S will do the same and they will realize that they are meant to be." Miley said dreamily.
They all turned to her.
"What? Their story is the best love story ever! I hope we get to see a happy ending on this one." She said with a smile.
"They will be mad at you for saying that. They don't love each other,right?" Cody teased.

Joe was tapping his fingers on his knees under the table while Taylor gets a bite of her dessert.
"What's wrong,Joseph?" She asked.
"Nothing, really." He assured her.
"Why do you seem unsettled?"
"No. How could you say that?" He got his glass and poured it all over his shirt.
"See?" Taylor said with a worried smile.
"I'm sorry."
"What is it?"
"Bee."
"Huh?" She asked with a confused look.
As hours pass, Joe realized that he can't stay mad at Selena that long. He could not hinder his tongue from calling her 'Bee'. He was in front of the girl he dreamed for months and yet all he wanted to do is abandon her and come to his best friend.
"I had a fight before I came to our date."
"With?"
"With my best friend."
"Oh...Selena, isn't she?'
"Yeah...my Bee."
"You call her that?"
"Yeah."
"You want to go to her and say that you're sorry?"
"Apparently."
"While you're on our date?"
"That's what I want."
She stood up and grabbed her ice cream in the glass and poured it to his head. "Screw you,Joseph Jonas!"
Joe's jaw dropped. "I--I'm sorry."
"The least you can do is drive me home."
He stood up. "I'm really sorry but I can't do that. I have to see her. Here's some money for a cab fare." He threw a bill at her and ran away.
"You are so gonna regret this, sharpie eye brows!" She shouted before Joe's car disappeared.
